GEN I: Chapter 10

In the morning, the newlyweds woke for breakfast. Alan called work and said he would not be in, he was on his honeymoon. Bobby laughed and said that it was fine, he deserved a day off. Alan started breakfast while Jenni showered. She was out quickly though and came in to watch him cook.

Jenni turned to go sit down at the table and wait. She had been thinking of children lately and wondered how she would bring it up to her husband. He had never really mentioned kids before, and she hoped he wanted some. They both ate breakfast, very good pancakes.

After breakfast Alan said he would have to go to the grocery store to pick up some things they needed. He gave Jenni a hug and a kiss. Even though they were married now, they still treated these moments like it was going to be their last together. They treasured each other.

While Alan was at the store, Jenni decided to catch up on a little reading. This was something she really enjoyed doing, and it seemed like she hadn't gotten to read a good book lately. As she read her mind still raced, thinking of her marriage and Alan, also of children and talking to Alan about them. She decided to ask when he got home.

Alan returned from the store and noticed mail in the box. Bills as usual. Still they had not exceeded 90 simoleans, so he filled out the check and sent it back straight away. He didn't want to forget about the bills, those were important to keep up. Alan wanted to be sure that Jenni knew he could support them together, and kids if they ever had them. He heard Jenni call him from inside. Alan went in to see her.
He found her in the bedroom with an odd look on her face.
"Alan you and I are not getting any younger. So I am just going to come out and ask." Jenni said abruptly. Alan got a little worried, but didn't say anything more than 'okay'. "Do you want children?" Jenni asked.

"I do actually, I am surprised you asked, I had been thinking about that today." Alan replied "Do you?" he asked. She said she did, but did not want to wait much longer. They decided to start trying right away.

When they climbed into bed, Jenni put her arms around him and looked him in the eyes. "Are you sure you want this?" He answered her with a deep meaningful kiss. She took it as a yes and pulled him down to her. They proceeded to try for a baby.

Enjoying the aftermath of their pleasures, they spoke of children and the house. Alan said that this was only a one bedroom house, and they would either have to build onto it, or move. He had gotten used to his home, and was not sure he really wanted to move. Jenni did though. She would prefer to get a new home. They figured they could talk about it later, they had plenty of time.

Alan got up and did some laundry. While he was in the laundry room, he gazed at his new wedding band, and smiled. He was happy he was finally settled down, in a stable relationship. He was also very happy that she was willing to have a child with him. He wanted a little boy to pass down his wisdom and genes to.

Alan wanted to go workout for a while so he changed into his workout gear, and kissed Jenni. Then went to the gym.

Right after he left, Jenni primped herself in the mirror for a minute. She had things to do, plans to lay out. Jenni brushed her teeth and walked out the door.

She rode around town for a while, looking for the perfect spot. She found it too. When she saw this plot, she fell in love with it. Backing up to some trees, and having neighbors close by, even closer to Alans work place. It was perfect, and also seemed pretty quiet. The houses on this street were lovely. She would have to make sure hers met up with the rest of them. Jenni called the construction company to get to work on a new house right here on this plot. She would be back to check in a few days.

When Jenni got home, she saw Alan there fresh out of the shower and in clean clothes. He was stretching though, as if he was sore. She offered to give him a massage. Alan had a great workout, he did cardio and strength training until he was fatigued. He was surprised when Jenni offered to massage him, he had not gotten used to her being here quite yet, but was really happy that she was.

Alan made them some dinner and they ate with some light conversation. Both of them were pretty tired and headed for bed right after dishes were done, and the kitchen cleaned.
Before they fell asleep, they made sure their attempt for a baby was doubled.

Fast asleep the two dreamt of different things. Mostly Jenni dreamed of babies, bottles and diapers. She also dreamt of a new home, filled with children's laughter.

Alan dreamt of his job, he still really wanted to be an astronaut and was never going to give up on that. He also dreamt of kids that night though, very pleasant dreams. Laughing babies and kids doing homework.

In the middle of the night, Jenni was awoken by a quick turn of her stomach. She felt very ill. Jenni lay there for a moment trying to will the nauseousness away, but it got stronger. Suddenly she was up and running for the bathroom.

Even though it was not a pretty feeling, she smiled. She could only think of one reason she would be sick.
