GEN I: Chapter 22

Hayden had a visitor today. Isabel came on Saturday just to hang out. Hayden seemed to really like this girl, he talked about her a lot to his parents, and friends. When he glanced out of the window to see who was at the door he called up to Jenni and said he would answer it.
Hayden stepped out and invited Isabel inside where he could greet her properly.

Hayden gave her a warm hug and took her hands and tells her that he is happy to see her. Then there was a call from the kitchen for everyone to come and eat dinner. The two teen lovebirds made their way to the dining room.

Most of the family sat down to dinner and light conversation. They spoke of various things, including the recipe Jenni followed for the meal.
Kenya spoke of her adventures of the day. She was so sick of being on maternity leave and with her baby almost a toddler, she went out and got a new job. A full time job, in place of her part time at the bookstore. She would be starting the following day, starting out as just a paper girl. Kenya wants more than that so she is willing to work extra hard to get some promotions in line.

Dinner done and dishes washed everyone retired to the living room to watch a little television.

Hayden talks to his crush, flirts a little bit, and then takes a big leap. He proposes that they go steady. Hayden really likes Isabel and doesn't want to see anyone else. Hoping she feels the same he popped that teenage question.
Isabel's reply was a nod of the head and a kiss on Haydens lips. "Of course, I would love to be your girlfriend! Actually I already thought of us as a couple, just now it is official I guess."

Soft coos from Crystal could be heard in the next room. She was ready to celebrate her birthday. Kenya pulled her out of the crib and set her down to show everyone what she could do. Crystal grew into a cute little toddler with her mothers hair, and big pretty eyes the color of her fathers.

**I love her expression, it is like she's asking "What the heck ya lookin' at?"

After Jenni's shift that day, she decided she was sick of part time at the spa. Even though she was in her elder years, she wanted a real job. Straight from work she went to the school and got a job there as a teachers aide. Jenni was looking forward to her new career.

Now Chase, Jenni, and Kenya all have full-time jobs. Also Hayden and Damien attend school full time. Basically the house is left to Alan and Crystal until 1pm when Hayden arrives back home. Everyone else gets home at 3pm. Until that time, Alan busies himself around the house.

There are plenty of things to do around this house. With so many people, many things get broken, or just messy. There was a sink to repair and a puddle to mop. A toilet to unclog then one to scrub and a tub to clean. Four beds needed to be made, and counters to wash. It seemed like the whole house fell apart that morning. This kind of thing actually happens frequently in this full house, but before there were more adults to help. Now, during the early portion of the day, it's just Alan.

Every hour or so he would take a break and tell Crystal that he was still there. They even got some potty training in.

There was plenty of laundry to do. As Alan was picking it up he thought to himself "Why would anyone change clothes in the kitchen?" He picked it up though, and started the very full washer. After everything was sparkling clean, and repaired he thought about exercising but was to tired from all the housework. He figured playing with Crystal was the best break he could get, they sat and played for at least an hour before Hayden got home and started his homework. Pretty soon the house was filling with people again and the noise level increased as well.

When Jenni and Kenya get home they both go straight out to the garden to tend to it. They used to do it in the morning, but with the new jobs they are getting ready for at that time, the garden will wait until the afternoon.

After getting comfortable in her house clothes, Kenya spends a few precious moments with her daughter. Chase will be back soon and will want to do the same thing. So Kenya gets her one on one time with Crystal now while she still has the chance.

Chase pulled into the driveway but before he made it inside he decided to celebrate his birthday. He didn't want anyone to see his aging, so he celebrated alone. Or so he thought. There were two people outside that started cheering him on as he started his aging process.

Damien and his little friend were there to bear witness to Chase aging into his adult hood. Chase felt pretty proud of his life and what he had done with it. Just recently he got a great job, with great pay. Finally mended the relationship with his mother and actually joined the family. Now he had a fiance` and a little girl to watch learn and grow.

Chase entered the house to a wonderful sight, his fiance` was holding his beautiful daughter. He gave Kenya a kiss on the cheek and whisked Crystal away to toss her in the air. Then he thought that maybe now she was old enough to start walking. Chase knew that Crystal was getting a little sleepy but figured she would be okay with a few steps. She did wonderfully her first try. Crystal walked right over to her daddy's outstretched arms and squealed with joy to be picked up again.
