GEN I: Chapter 23: Part 1

A warm hug starts the day for these two elder love birds. Alan's plans for the day include nothing but exercise. He feels like he has abandoned his athletic side, and it is starting to get to him. So his objective is to work out for ten hours straight.

Jenni does not really have any plans for the day, aside from taking care of the gardening. So she went out to do so.

Everyone seems occupied today. Of course it is Saturday, and no one works or studies, so there is a lot of free time. Hayden ran out of scrap to invent with so he is out scrounging the local dump to gather some more. Damien is enjoying his birthday present, he has started a brand new painting.

Chase is teaching his little angel to talk. He chose the bathroom to do this, probably because there are less interesting distractions. Chase figures it might keep Crystal's attention more being in here.

Kenya helped Jenni in the garden, just as they were going inside Jenni was stopped by Kenya. "Chase asked me to marry him a few nights ago," she said. "and I was wondering if you would come with me to try on some dresses."
Jenni's eyes lit up and she smiled "Oh my! A wedding! I love weddings! Yes I'd love to come. Let's go now." Jenni replied "Wow I'm gaining another family member! A daughter-in-law! Hurray, congratulations sweetie on your engagement." Kenya laughed and thanked Jenni. They both hopped in the car right then to go try on some formal clothes.

As she stood there looking at her soon to be daughter-in-law she decided to get herself something as well. Jenni went to the next stand to check herself out as well.

Kenya tried on a number of things, the first one was just too 'bridesmaid-ish'. The next was too short, then she tried one that was way to old looking for her. The fourth dress was not that bad on her, it was cute, but she wasn't looking for 'cute'. Then Kenya spotted what she called a 'sexy-woman-suit' and she really liked it. Not for her wedding though, she couldn't get married in that. Kenya picked out one of those outfits anyway to take home as regular everyday wear.

She finally settled on this dress.

What bride doesn't want a new nighty for the wedding night? Chase has a thing for ducks, so she picked a pattern with them on it. It combined her favorite color and his favorite thing. She never understood why he liked ducks, but then, he was insane so you can never tell.

Kenya was really happy about her selection. She decided to keep her hairstyle, Chase loved her hair just like it was. Aside from that, it was not going to be a wedding party, just close family.

Done with her selection, Kenya went to see how Jenni was doing.

Jenni took a while to select her outfit, she thought nothing looked good on her. Finally she chose a cute little dress and jacket set. She also picked out another everyday outfit for herself. Jenni had ripped her jeans working in the garden, and didn't like the holes.

The two girls purchased their new outfits and went home. When they got there they were surprised to see that the living room had been expanded a little bit and rearranged. Jenni had picked out some new covering for the couch and chair a long time ago, but had not gotten around to putting it on.

Alan had gotten it all done while they were gone. He had started to work out, then changed his mind. Alan wanted to please his wife. He recovered the sofa and chair, then had contractors expand a little bit. He also bought a rug for the room as well. A new picture hung on the wall and new lights lit the place up nicely.

As the girls walked in they noticed Chase, dancing his heart out in the little hallway by the stairs. The oddest thing was, that he was dressed in his swimming trunks. "Crazy people do that," Kenya said to Jenni "and he is pretty crazy. He wears formal clothing to bed and his daily clothes swimming!" Jenni and Kenya laughed and went to have some dinner. They had been gone longer than they realized and were famished.

Upstairs, Damien had completed his painting and was considering selling it. He did, but it was not worth much. This was only his second painting. Damien kept his first, and would keep some of his paintings in the future, just to show his progression in the artwork. Eventually he planned to paint a masterpiece, maybe even open his own gallery.
