GEN I: Chapter 21, part 2

Monday morning and early afternoon passed with not to much action. Taking care of a garden and a baby take up most of Jenni and Kenya's morning. By afternoon around 4 most of the family is seated at the table doing homework or having an early dinner. Hayden helps his little brother with any questions he might have, although he is careful not to give away the answers. He makes sure Damien shows his work, and figures it out himself.
Just a little bit after this, everyone retires early. The kids go to school and both men go to work on Tuesdays.

Behind closed doors, other things are on Kenya's mind. She is looking for a little love from her husband. Kenya hasn't been feeling as sexy as she used to since Crystal was born. It did not help her situation when she was shot down by the man she loves. Chase refused her advances. Not only because her cell phone was distracting, but he had something else in mind.

Realizing that he had hurt Kenya's feelings, Chase pulled her out of bed and started to explain his reasoning's. He paused for a moment, unsure of what to say. Then faster than he could say 'I'm sorry' he was down on one knee pulling out a ring. As tired as he was, he had to ask, right then. There would be no better time. They were alone, and in a tight house with four adults, one teen, one tween and a baby, privacy was hard to come by.
"I've never been really good with words, Kenya," he admitted, "but, Will you be my wife?"
"Oh Chase, Of course I will, " Kenya replied "I was hoping you would ask!"

With her words of acceptance Chase slipped the ring on her finger. It was a little big, but they would get it re-sized, no problem. Hardly able to contain her excitement, Kenya gasped and threw her arms around her new fiance`.

She gave him a hug that seemed to last forever.

Just outside, the two boys were hanging out on the jungle gym. Damien was playing his all time favorite game, Pirates, and Hayden was dubbed to protect the loot. Hayden was glad of this, that meant that he didn't have to leave the ship.
Realizing what time it was, Hayden told his brother it was time for bed. The two of them headed inside for the night. Though Damien was too short, Hayden was just tall enough to see inside windows walking by them.

As he walked by his older half-brothers window, he glimpsed Chase and Kenya sharing a very passionate kiss. He wondered for a brief moment what brought it on. He had seen kisses before, but that one had a lot of emotion behind it, he could tell.
