GEN I: Chapter 8

In the morning, the sun barely up over the horizon, Alan invited Jenni to come over for a little while, before she has to go to work. She accepted the invitation and showed up 5 minutes later. Alan was just about to make them some pancakes when Jenni stopped him and said that she had already eaten. They stood in the living room and talked for a while, though the conversation seemed tense. Like they were trying not to do something.

Finally, Alan gave in and leaned toward Jenny and told her that he was attracted to her, and thought about her... a lot. She responded with "I'm glad the feeling is mutual."

For a while, they just embraced each other, enjoying one anothers presence. Jenny pulled back and took Alans hands, "I am glad I finally met a nice guy. The other ones I knew never stuck around to long, after they got to know me" she said.

"Ah, so that is what your mother meant when she said 'hopefully this one will stick'." replied Alan. Jenny laughed and nodded. "Will you?" Jenny asked.

Alan pulled her close and whispered in here ear how much he would love to be with her all the time, and that he wanted to take her to the most romantic place in the world. Jenni felt a shiver run down her spine at the thought of Alan so close to her.

When he figured he had gotten his point across that he wanted to be with Jenny, Alan asked her to make it official. He just wanted her and no one else. Hopefully she would feel the same. Jenny smiled, a big beautiful smile, and responded further in a way Alan did not expect, but welcomed.

She took Alan by the waist and pulled him firmly toward him and planted a huge kiss right on the lips. She said she would love nothing more than to be his girlfriend. They were so involved in that moment, the next few felt very natural. Alan invited Jenni to cuddle on the bed...

The woohoo's emitting from that room could be heard next door... twice.

Jenny was upset to leave, but she had to get to work. So Alan hugged and kissed her goodbye, "I have to work in the morning," Alan said, "but call me when you get home tomorrow evening." She promised she would, and walked out the door.










After Jenni left, Alan went in to wash some dishes that were left out. After he put them in the dishwasher, he remembered that it was actually his birthday today. Today, Alan was officially an adult.

He had his own little celebration, but did not feel much different than the day before. Except now, he was in love.

The next day after work Alan rushed straight home, hoping for a call any second. He was promoted today, and could not wait to tell his new girlfriend the news. To Alan, it seemed a little odd to have a 'girlfriend' at his age. Then he realized he wanted more. Though he was in a hurry, he stopped by a jewelery store on the way home.

When he got home, Alan had still not gotten the call he was waiting for, so he did one thing he did best just to pass the time. After what seemed like ages, the phone rang. It was Jenni "Hi Alan, I am home from work, would you like to come over?" Alans "yes" hardly escaped his mouth, and he was off the phone and out the door.

He stood at her door for a moment anxiously awaiting the knock to be answered. Jenni's mother Renee answered, and invited him in. He found Jenni in the living room waiting for him.

Jenni greeted him with a kiss, and asked him how his day was. "Oh, I got a promotion at my job today, Bobby, my boss, said he was thrilled to give it to me!" Alan basically blurted out without taking a breath. Jenni looked a little surprised but congratulated him. She was happy he wanted to share this kind of news with her. She came from a broken relationship, where her boyfriend never really talked to her, much less share news such a promotion or anything big.

"Will you go out with me tonight to celebrate?" Alan asked.
"Of course I will," Jenni replied "When do you want to go?"

"Well I hope your ready now," said Alan, "because I would like to go now." Jenny looked at Alan, he seemed pretty anxious, and she hoped everything was as okay as it seemed. They both dressed in their formal clothing, and left for dinner.

They both arrived at the Bistro, as hungry as ever. The ordered an appetizer, salad, and the main course. Unfortunately Alan's dinner was cold, so he sent it back. The waiter apologized repeatedly and told Alan that the meal would be free tonight.

They stayed for dessert as well. Jenny thought the whole time that it seemed as if Alan was trying really hard not to talk to fast, or too much. He still seemed anxious.
Alan was trying to be a little reserved, but he was so happy, he almost could not contain himself. He was not an excitable man, but he was not really himself right now. Was now a good time?

After dinner and dessert, the two went back to Alans house. As soon as the taxi pulled up Alan noticed how tired he was. He had been too jumpy to notice before, to on edge. It was not a good time tonight. He invited Jenni in, and hoped she would stay the night with him.

After coming in, Alan whispered to Jenni "You know, I am pretty bushed, and would like to go to bed... would you join me?"

She accepted his offer.

Even though they were both tired, they had enough energy for a little more fun. Before she could fall asleep Jenni had to get up and visit the restroom. She came out looking dreamy eyed, and thinking of her new found love. Jenni hopes and wishes this one is for real. Alan was already asleep in the bed, so Jenni took a minute to watch him. She did love this man, but was he being honest? Or did he just want to love her and leave her like the last guy? Jenni decided to think about that tomorrow, she did not want to spoil her intense mood tonight.

Clothes strewn all over the floor, but not enough energy to pick them up, Jenni crawled into bed next to her new boyfriend as quietly as she could. " 'Boyfriend', that sounds kind of young." Jenni thought, "I wish we were more."
